You should be able to send a email 40KB big through Gmail. The limit is 10MB. It could be a temporary problem with Gmail, or something in your Outlook Express that is limiting the size sent. What does the Advanced tab in your account settings in OE say?

If you are still have difficulty sending, the Gmail guide tells you to use SMTP port 465. The error message said you are using SMTP port 25. |
