Just an alert for you...

FastMail.FM Status Screen
(Please note that all times quoted are in the server's time-zone, not your time-zone.)

This screen was last refreshed at: Wed Aug 14 21:38:59 2002

The current time is Wed Aug 14 21:44:18 2002

When we last checked, the server was DOWN.

The server has been down since Wed Aug 14 21:38:59 2002
Refreshed status report now being generated, please wait:

The web server is not responding. I'm running diagnostics now to see what's happening. Wait a moment...

Network provider responds to IP ping perfectly so the network is up.

FastMail.FM responds to IP ping perfectly, so the server is up.

FastMail.FM responds to name ping perfectly, so the DNS system is working.

Not what we expected from the IMAP server. It responded: * OK IMAP4 Ready www.fastmail.fm . Sounds like there's a problem with the IMAP server software. If you're an administrator, go into the admin screen and choose 'Restart IMAP', otherwise through the forum or by emailing the webmaster.

Oh dear. The tests failed. The server's down. Follow the instructions above, and if you can't get it working, and it's been 30 minutes since the first report (see above for the first problem report time), send us a pager message using the admin screen.

End of server status report for Wed Aug 14 21:44:29 2002.

Fastmail Bad Gateway - Security Risk?

Just noticed that if I tried to pass my username and password through FastCheck or other means, the Bad Gateway page which kicks back EXPOSES my real username and real password (which have been censored). No Good

Angry Same problem here, website is down as well

It looks like both the IMAP server and the website is down.
I just noticed the problem now, so at least the IMAP server must have been up intermediately earlier in the day. The IMAP server is complaining that it doesn't recognize my password, while the webserver simply appears to be down completely.

Same here -- 502 Gateway error.

I must say, this is the second time I got this error in the past week, and the third time in this month ...

First time I've gotten in long, long time. They've been paged, probably multiple times and are no doubt looking into it now.
