MySpace.com vs. Friendster.com
MySpace.com vs. Friendster.com
Friendster was very popular when it came out, but appeared slow for a while. An article I read in the paper some time ago make it seem like Myspace, although it came out later, seemed to be far more popular. They both offer blogs now and Myspace offers groups. Which one of these sites are more people on, and of those that are on both, which one are they more primary on? There's many more out there, but these two seem to be the most popular. |

I'm actually thinking of joining myspace.com. I'm going to look for some reviews.
I already have a LiveJournal account. I'll take a look at Friendster.com too. Thanks for sharing the link. Update: I joined myspace.com. I like it so far. I'm still updating my profile. Last edited by Starion : 28 Mar 2005 at 10:32 AM. |

I joined myspace, and I don't like the ads and it's difficult to figure out.
However, if you ask me if I prefer that or friendster, I'd have to say myspace. The communities seem to work like LiveJournal communities, which are great. |

I like MySpace's forums and groups. The Flash advertisments with sound are kinda annoying. I met some nice gals on MySpace.
I haven't used orkut. I think it is an invitation only group? Later |

Starion, if you want an orkut invite, PM me. You'll hate it tho'. It's slow and sluggish. Not just a little but a LOT.

thanks to al lfo you making me aware of myspace.
http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?...3668B576491109 wow soo incredibly many groups there. and rather easy to join too. I found a religion new to me there universism but I guess we should not mention such tbhings on emd so i delete the name if anybody feel it to not be proper rule behavior. don't copy my text here cause I fail to edit others post so now i'm hoarding communities too. voi. my question is is myspace one of the more easy to use for peopel such as me then |

I had a Friendster account before Myspace. I logged in myspace and visited maybe once or twice then forgot about it.
I like friendster better. I don't make use of the forums or communities, mainly just to keep in contact with friends and rediscover lost ones. Imagine a friend from grade 6 found me! And the friendster website has been banned in our office, because of too much unproductive time spent on it as well as the wasted bandwidth. *lol* I'm not one of the addicts though. |

But the blogs are probably very basic and much less good than the ones from blogspot.com or WorldPress?
I think for blogging it's best to use a specific program anyway. When it comes to general features and possibilities, which one would be better? |

What if you read this one, I found it today when thinking how I would go about it if I ahd your question?
Social Networking Sites: A Review of MySpace vs. Friendster A review of two common social networking sites; Friendster vs. MySpace. http://www.broadbandinfo.com/got-hig...riendster.html here is another http://www.businessweek.com/magazine...0/b3963001.htm The MySpace Generation They live online. They buy online. They play online. Their power is growing Seems as if Myspace has taken over after Friendstier decline? But some say they miss Friendstier cause it was more user friendly? what about this text The most startling figure I saw from the article was 14 million unique visitors last month for Myspace versus 1 million unique visitors for Friendster. ... prefixmag.typepad.com/prefixmag_blog/2005/week23/ Myspace are 14 times more popular I give up. Me going over to only mobile access to internet with a US dollar a megabyte it wil lbe too costly even to write here at EMD so myspace will ahve t owait until I am back unless they have the same update by email as blogger blogspot has. trew |

here is why my mobile would have trouble with myspace.
"Funny, I've spent the last six months trying to get any random MySpace page to load without all the photos, videos, animations, sounds, java appletts and other mundane crap along with their retarded interface crashing any random browser I'm using on any random OS." Last time I did the same me too had trouble loading al land I am on broadband here ok only .3 mbyte or so. so Tsunami you have to decide on priority. Millions of people to chose among but much advertixing and photos and ads en mass. |

Interesting blog post:
Why Murdoch Really Bought MySpace? "He is planning to create a competitor to MTV. Much like Viacom’s CBS decided to use the broadband web to bypass cable and compete against the 24-hour news networks like CNN and FoxNews" http://gigaom.com/2005/08/06/why-mur...ought-myspace/ Anyone who uses Myspace groups care to comment on how they compare to Yahoogroups? |

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I had to fix my new computer and Wifi connection.
Thanks for sharing the links anj and Trew. I might join Friendster to search for friends. I already found some people I know on Myspace.com. My Myspace.com page doesn't have any music or video clips on it. Bye |

I opened a MySpace account as well: www.myspace.com/nocturnalsea
I'll explain: on all forums I either use Tsunami or Nocturnal Me as nickname. Both however were already taken on MySpace (time to TM them !) So I picked something that sounds familiar and refers to the sea, which is my symbol of freedom and purity. So there you go All Belfast Belles are allowed to add me to their friend list |
