DOS = Denial of Service Attack.
Short for denial-of-service attack, a type of attack on a network that is designed to bring the network to its knees by flooding it with useless traffic. Many DoS attacks, such as the Ping of Death and Teardrop attacks, exploit limitations in the TCP/IP protocols. For all known DoS attacks, there are software fixes that system administrators can install to limit the damage caused by the attacks. But, like viruses, new DoS attacks are constantly being dreamed up by hackers. Read all about it here - http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/DoS_attack.html |

I'm not sure if this is related. I experienced the above outage also, being logged out of fastmail when I didn't want to be. Now I find that when I hit the unsubscribe link to an EMD thread I am also being logged out. Might be a problem my end. Anyone else having similar experiences?
Thanks, Jeff |

I'm always prompted to log back in whenever I go to the User C.P. link.

Is anyone still having any problems logging in or using their accounts? Still getting webmaster reports, but can't reproduce any problems, so hoping that it' just slow reporting...

If I get a an email from EMD telling me there is a new post to a thread I am subscribed to , that email contains a link to unsubscribe from that thread. It's when I hit that link that I get logged out from fastmail.

Ahh, now I get it. What happens if you force the EMD link to open in a new window?

The new window goes back to the fastmail logon screen and the existing window is OK

I've subscribed to this thread now so after the next reply here I'll see if I can recreate the problem.
I suppose you've already done the "obvious" stuff, including restarting your browser? |

Yes I did but I tried this on two machines at work and it worked on one but not the other. Please don't spend any more time on it as I'm satisfied it is a problem this end, not with fastmail or EMD. I am leaving work now and will check it again next week.
Thanks, Jeff |
