D-Spam server not responding

It seems like the server running the trainable spam software is not responding. This server is slow at the best of times. I hope something is done to improve the response from it.

We have noticed it can be slow during peak hours, but tonight it has actually responded very quickly -- and it should theoretically treat all users the same...

Regardless, we are planning to replace the server Dspam is running on.

I don't think they've ever managed to get the DSPAM filter optimized.

If the DSPAM filter gets too busy some messages may skip the DSPAM filter. And almost daily I have several messages that don't have DSPAM headers.

However, even though all messages may not be checked by DSPAM it's still better than just SpamAssassin.

Rich

It's the server Dspam is running on that's the problem. Dspam is inherently resource-demanding because it relies on a huge database containing tokens of all the words (and word combinations) in every message received by Runbox -- which is quite a few every day.

As mentioned we will replace the Dspam server with a newer one.

It is not the initial missing of headers I am concerned with. Yes it is better than we had I am very thankful for it. What I am talking about is today I opened my browser and logged in because I had several peices of mail that had missed the filter. When I checked one of them and then said report spam I sat here for more than ten minutes and it never resolved. I rebooted the browser and same thing.

This is the only time I use web mail when I need to train mail as spam or mail as NOT spam. In these cases the spam server has been very unresponsive regardless of time of day.

I have had that happen from time to time but not frequently. I primarily use the web interface and use the spam/not spam reporting often.
