Overused Words or Phrases

(A contest on a radio station gave me this idea.)

Which word(s) or phrase(s) do you consider overused?

Winning answer on the radio station was "hello!" as used in emphasizing something said.

What say you? And give the reason why.

"really" and "so" as used by students and other people who should have a better command of the language given their upbringing and education.

As in "It was really really good." or "It was sooo... good.".

I don't like that "hello" thing either but luckily (for me) it is mainly an American habit, maybe Australian too, I don't know. It's not used in Britain much.

It's a tie:

-Uhm (Use it sometimes, but not too many)
-Like (once maybe as a filler)
-So (use only as an 'as a result' phrase)
-And (It bugs me to see it used more than once in a sentence)
-Suddenly (Another word that just bugs me - nothing happens suddenly, you don't suddenly fall in a pit of sand )

"remains to be seen" might be overused too I'd also nominate "to be sure" (seen all too frequently in scholarly and academic writings)
"by the same token" (or its mangled counterpart "at the same token" )
"it's a no-brainer!" and "well, duhhhhhh"

Hope it is ok to gently tease?

One such word or short phrase must be Yo! short for you know!

another in BBC worldwide news.

"Thank you very much indeed!"

I mean if she said that once a day or two times but one of them says it to every participator.

Ok polite but overly polite maybe or am I too teasing?

"Whatever" -- used to avoid a real response to what someone has just said.

Definitely that one too, although I was personally thinking most specifically of a woman in her 40's of my recent aquaintance with a serious -- possibly borderline psychotic -- "reality avoidance complex". Okay, I just made that one up, but I can't offhand think of a better term at the moment.

I uhh, uhm ... well - duhhhhhh! This is really so, uhm, uhh basically a no brainer. But I digress - not! By the same token, on the other hand, it remains to be seen - for sure! So suddenly, so very suddenly indeed, suddenly and then some to be sure. Oh yeah, we're talking sudden here. An absolute certainty. For sure. Or for certain, anyway . Suddenly and absolutely for sure. Thank you very much. Indeedy die die doe.
