Yahoo has free email? I didn't know that.

I guess I can cancel my AOL dialup now.

Maybe one small added value to this otherwise quite odd topic: according to my family, who use Yahoo, there's finally a HTTPS option. I can't know since I ditched my Yahoo account three years ago for that exact reason that the entire session was in HTTP with no option to have HTTPS. If it is correct that you can set it to HTTPS somehow now, then I'd say it's about time but it would make Yahoo an option to consider again. Without HTTPS I won't even think about it...

The unlimited storage space and fact that they're a rich player which is unlikely to vanish soon, are bonuses (although no guarantees...remember they did stop Geocities despite the service's popularity for many years)

Yahoo is reportedly undergoing major restructuring of their company.

My gut feeling is that yahoo maybe will not survive on the current level.
Maybe they reconstruct in a way that will be rather drastic?

Will the yahoogroups survive? Email service maybe survive? Not sure.

But I only see it from a Swedish perspective so maybe they get more
ad money in other countries?

Re the new member. Hope he forgive me for suggesting he is a "bot".
Or is it an internal joke from a long time lurker that just want to tease us?

I hope they survive, I have four accounts. I'd really hate to have to switch to another.

Nothing to be forgive for. I happen to agree with you. My first take on the post... a spam feeler post. There were a couple other similar post around the same time frame.

oops so your are for real. I do apology.

But I wonder about the link you have in your profile.

onlinecheapshoppingcart.com

is that not very close to being a regular spam? Or is it in a gray zone?
I would not put such homepage name in my profile.
