Thanks for the mention. Not sure, though, that my little home-brewed mail service is worthy of mention amongst the illustrious great.

Thumbs down Representative of: RetroBlue.com

It bothers me when a first time post 'befriends' and recommends 'these guys are great'...pretending to just put their 2 cents in.

Be upfront- what's the problem? The latest example is (maybe I'm wrong):

Representative of:
RetroBlue.com

The first post made was to seem like 'baz191' heard about this company- and was not a representative:

Quote:
Ive been keeping an eye out at the stuff going on at retroblue.com
An up and coming out-sourced email provider, an these guys seem to know what there talkin about. No prices are outlined as such, so i'd drop them a line an see what they can do for you

Baz
The above quote was in 'Baz's first post:
http://www.emaildiscussions.com/...threadid=12101

A second post 6 weeks later...'Baz' is a representative!!!
http://www.emaildiscussions.com/...threadid=12265

...I don't like to be hoodwinked no matter how trivial the matter. If you offer information that may help with a posted question...be upfront about your point of view. Don't decieve to gain...you'll only lose credibility and your integrity will take a beating.

You're so right! Because those posts were 6 weeks apart, I missed it - normally, that's cause for a ban, but since the user's probably never coming back anyway it's almost certainly moot.

For all email providers reading this thread: deception WILL get you banned. Doesn't happen often (frankly most people aren't foolish enough to try) but every time I notice I take the appropriate action. Treat the community with respect and you will get respect in turn.

The only reason I can think of it maybe he was promoted to the staff of that service during that time period. Still, it's a bit odd to say the least!

Anyway...

ModoMail.com II (modovlad)

(Hmmm, might be an interesting exercise for someone to trawl this thread and list all the services and their reps in one post.  Such a post would have to take into account that when starting this thread, I purposely didn't include Fastmail or Runbox, who IIRC each have four active reps here; there may be other services or reps who have been missed.

In adding to this thread, remember that your post is supposed to name the service, and link to the profile of the user representing that service; there is little or no point in linking to the service itself (unless you do so as well, rather than instead), or to not provide a link...)
