I really hope we can keep the old interface AT LEAST for composing simple messages.

Now answering partially my previous question, here is another data point. IF I save from the new interface an image/ icon that will be centered, and then open it in the old interface, I can see its HTML, and so can replace the code left align auto something by 0px and it seems to work fine in the old interface. BUT if I open that draft in the new interface, the image is replaced by a broken icon.

Just tried it - works great, only had to adjust the width to correct pix size.
However, I don't know how it will be received. As mentioned earlier, some recipients may block the whole email. This would be worse than prompting the recipient for a click to authorize the image insertion.

In my case, for a legal firm receiving emails, the current method (bad because the icon is centered, not left aligned) using embedded images works fine (as with attached jpg). The other method (manual click authorization) also works well.

So I'd rather there were a way to use the modern interface provide a choice to left adjust rather than center.

Thanks for the base 64 suggestion, though, that would be the third alternative. Well, fourth if we consider using a mail client (Outlook or Thuderbird, which I'd rather not bother with).

UPDATE 1 : inserting an image left aligned is simple, just click on the align icon - by default it is centered - duh

UPDATE 2: inserting an image or signature including a banner/image is still too cumbersome: why not add another icon so it inserts one of a few preselected signatures or icons at the cursor line?

UPDATE 3 and *** suggestion***: inserting an image from a website URL used to be the only way to insert an image in the old FM interface, while the new interface ONLY allowed images saved locally to be uploaded* . A faster more convenient way if you want to insert an image from a website would be to automate the manual steps we have to do now: replace download the web image locally then upload in the composed mail by download/ transfer the link/ image to a dedicated FM storage files area and automatically insert at the cursor. This would let us insert either from local files OR web links just as easily in ONE step.

* The exception which actually makes UPDATE 3 suggestion possible is that you can copy and paste from the Templates or other FM mails an image
