Problem Repoting Non-Spam

I'm trying to report messages as non-spam but keep getting this error message:-

"Could not append modified message - IMAP Command : 'append' failed. Reason was : Can't locate object method "seek" via package "File::Temp" at /home/mod_perl/hm/Mail/IMAPTalk.pm line 2765"

Is this a temporary glitch or a bug?

I don't see this problem right now. But I did have other problems on Friday. I think it's a temporary glitch. Fastmail has been performing major software revisions on their servers the past couple of days, and there are some erratic problems which should go away shortly. That's my guess.

Problem Reporting Spam

Reporting as Spam' gives me this message:


Could not copy/move messages from Inbox to Junk Mail - IMAP Command : 'uid copy' failed. Response was : no - [TRYCREATE] Mailbox does not exist


also when I try to move the msg manually to the junk folder.

I don't see this problem right now in my account. Is this a transient problem, or has it been ongoing for a day? As I pointed out, Fastmail has been doing some upgrades this past week which cause temporary problems.

If the problem persists, I recommend trying the following:
  • Open the Options>Folders screen.
  • Look for a folder named "Junk Mail" (exactly). The name of this folder should not be editable, since it is a system-created folder.
  • Select Edit for the Junk Mail folder. Then select Save Properties at the bottom of the Folder Properties screen. You should then see the status message "Properties changed on folder Junk Mail" near the top of the screen. There should not be any error messages.
  • Now try moving the message to Junk Mail again. If this fails, try the following:
    • Log out, then select the "Account Problems?" link at the bottom of the login block.
    • After rebuilding your account, log back in and try moving to Junk Mail again.

No Junk Folder

Thanks n5bb.

Following your suggestion I found out, that my junk-folder was gone

I thought the junk-folder belongs to the ones one can't edit or delete (and I'm pretty sure I did neither of both).
I created a new Junk-Folder and it's working as expected.

You can't delete or rename the Junk Mail folder using the web interface. But you can do this using an email client (such as Thunderbird).

My spam bayes databases are not growing and all the history has been lost? It's all now down to zero and set to global.Anybody else facing this issue?

No, my Bayes database is still working normally. I recommend you file a support request.
