Caught in a Gmail loop

I need to change my gmail password. I follow directions but I find myself in a loop. I click on change password. The program says they have to identify me. They send me a number code on my. cell phone. I put in the number, click done and I am back at the change password screen and the pattern repeats endlessly. Still can't change my gmail password and get into my gmail account.

Use a different method of getting the code, like a backup email address.

You have to clear the cookies of your browser before You do this method.Good luck
