Slashmail still is. The free, trial, account expires after a month. I would've liked to keep it. Even though it's only $24.00 a year, I couldn't afford to keep it. OpenWebMail is free and available however.

THe reason I ask is that I have tried to sign up with each and they both send me an email saying they will send me a password as soon as they verify my information alas alack nothing is ever heard from them

Oh. When I registered at slashmail, I got an email in a day or so that I had to reply to. The reply had to be very 'human-like', which was a bit difficult for me because I had to remember where I left my 'human-mode' laying around..

Just tried Tuffmail now, had the same response, 'we will email your password and account information once your details are verified'.

My account (invoice) at Tuffmail is overdue since August and the intention was to it let expire. Still have access it to it. Running on automatic pilot? However the latest system status update is from October 6th.

slashmail
I signed up for the one month trial with no problem. At the end of the trial I purchased a year's service. I got the upgrade, but also a warning on my mailbox page that my trial period was expired. After one email, the warning was removed. I've found the service to be reliable and the support as responsive as I need it to be.
As for Tuffmail, I let my subscription drop several years ago. I can still log in to my account and send email. Kevin |
