Fastcheck on Win 7 64bit
Does anybody know if Fastcheck runs on the 64 bit version of Windows 7?

Nobody replied, so I just took a chance and installed the 64 bit version anyway.
It works! But only in compatibility mode. |

Thanks for testing it out. It's nice to have the information around here for reference.

You are welcome.
For ease of reference, you need to right click the Fastcheck program, click properties, then set the compatibility to "Windows XP (SP3)". When you start the program, it will run just fine but will triggers Windows 7's UAC protection that asks for confirmation that Fastcheck can run. It's a pain having to do this each time, so you can bypass this (as you can with any program) using this method: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/ It now works fine, autostarting when Window does. Good luck! |

Which version of Fastcheck? I have been running Fastcheck 2.0.0.1 on Vista without any compatibility problems, but that was Vista 32bit.
I have just installed Fastcheck 2.0.0.2 from here onto my laptop running Windows 7 64bit and it again runs perfectly and does not trigger any UAC prompts. All I did to install was to copy the Fastcheck exe file into a new Fastcheck folder in Program Files (x86) together with the exported Config from my previous installation. |

I am running the same version as you, and did exactly the same as you, but it will not connect to Fastmail. The red cross on Fastcheck just comes up. So, I used the option to check compatibility and it suggested running it as Windows XP (SP3). Its running that in compatibility mode that triggers the UAC.
God knows why that is, but it works fine now. |
