If we do not yet have enough, IBM starts a new a web-based email service, called Verse.

I signed up but there was no email or other acknowledgement of the signup so I can't tell if I'm actually registered. I couldn't find anything on that site about price or timeline.

My understanding is that the service is still under development, and notifications will be sent when the accounts are ready.

Yes. beta is starting November 25. General availability at the end of the first Q of 2015.
