Hello, Jarland.

Just out of curiosity, other than one domain and one E-Mail user, what are the other quotas (storage, bandwith, hourly/daily messages, etc.) for surviving "Free" accounts?

Thank you.

Unfortunately you'll have to at some point. If forwarding works on any service by the end of the year I'll be shocked.

10gb storage, 1TB bandwidth set but no limit intended. Emails per hour are not limited. The policy there is taken from my favorite policy set by Tim of Hostigation. That policy is, for family friendly language, "don't be a jerk."

Truth is the policy is relaxed. If you become a problem you might get a message asking you to chill. Monitoring for abuse is done on several levels, including twice daily log audits.

Couldn't forwarding be established in Evolution, Outlook, Thunderbird, or a similar program?

My point wasn't that I am not willing. I simply don't know what to say. Do I merely say: "Please do not forward your mail to another account so that we can play nice with our provider"

I've found this article to be a very effective way to communicate it. It doesn't fully address the latest details, but it explains the basis of the problem and offers some alternative thinking (like POP fetch).

E.g. greylisting etc.

Perhaps look at FM's methods?
I'm weighing the pros and cons of greylisting for the next big update. Although I'm not sure it'll be effective against the more advanced spam I've been seeing, there is still plenty of the regular old spam as well that just may benefit from this.

Does MXroute include space for file storage and not just mail storage? For example, Runbox has a place to store files. Whenever you compose a message, there is a menu to attach one or more stored files.

Thank you, Jarland.

That's very generous for a free account.

It does not. I've actually not thought about that.

Thanks, Jarland. You've been great about answering questions so far.

Now, what about encryption for the user sign in page?

How does one obtain a free account? I only see the $1/year option. (Not that it's much, I'm just wanting to try the service out..)

I've had mine since last year -- not sure they are offered any longer.

I'm sure Jarland will have a definitive answer.

That actually does have a valid SSL.

The mail control panel does as well.
