perhaps F/m can have 2 systems the old one on a different server as it would be terrible to get stuck with something we may not like.

This is a good idea. Is it possible that they could implement the new interface on the beta site, but not the regular site? (or a similar idea?)

And when I log into GMail it is still beta (after many programmers working over many months). These large projects do take a while, and Fastmail has only a fraction of the resources of Google. However, we users have the advantage of being able to interact with the developers at Fastmail and get a unique result.
