New Vote--Who's a Regular?
Hi Gang !! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif
You know, just now I noticed that I'm quickly approaching my 100th post and it got me to thinking about how empty and pathetic my life must be, lol! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Just kidding (I hope, haha!) But, really, it did make me wonder why I return to this board so frequently. Yes, it's interesting to hear all the latest email news. But, let's be honest, by now most of us have decided on our one or two rock-solid favorites and the issue is pretty much settled. So, other than the email info, I think it's the chumminess and sense of community here. Personally, I know I've met some really great folks. Like for example: Nikolaos Ivyleaf Camille Dave P. Trip Lisa Gukein Odedp and many others. (In fact, I'm beginning to think that Trip really should create an email providers' site of his own, cuz this man KNOWS email! Hardly a day goes by without The Tripper stopping by to answer questions and dish out the scoop, haha! You go, Tripper!) Anyway, what I was wondering is: How often do other people visit the board? Once a month? Once a week? Once a day? More? And do you come only to look for the latest buzz on your favorite or new providers? Or do you also come just to see what some of your favorite posters are saying? Do you ever look at the member profiles? Do you feel you've gotten to know any of the posters at all? Which ones? Obviously this is a question aimed mainly at the board "regulars," but any and everyone are invited to answer. And what I'm trying to do, of course, is increase the "neighborhood feel" of the board among those who already sense it a bit. (I know you do, Camille! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif ) I realize this is a little more personal and intimate a topic than we're used to discussing, but I'd be grateful to anyone who feels like replying. Fondly, Dave |

Well I am new here, became a member by posting 15 times in about three days (do I need a life or what?). http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/redface.gif
I check this site at lest once a day. I am an information addict. I enjoy learning and gathering information. I am hooked on learning and gathering information! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I am really surprised that a site like this even exist, I would have never believed that there was much to talk about concerning free email providers. I figured that these sites actually operated for life! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/eek.gif Just think, the only reason I found this site is because email dot com fail apart and I needed to find another email service. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/mad.gif and http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Yes I just started checking profiles and as a result I went and wrote something in mine! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Do not really no anyone yet, but from reading the post of the last year I do realize that there is one guy who really, really, really loves mail2world. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/cool.gif I like this site and I plan to continue coming here at least once a day just to see what is going on in the world of email services. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif Just in case anyone cares, I am using MyRealBox as my primary email, forwarding it to Yahoo (can not see them closing for awhile) and still deciding between Diganet and Yifan for my third email site. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/tongue.gif Could not use Visto because I have a Macintosh. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/confused.gif Once again I want to say thanks to all of you who have posted in the past, it really helped me a lot! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Al. In search of reliable email service. P.S. I almost ued all of the emoticons http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif P.P.S. Will try to use them all in another post, gives me something to look forward to. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/redface.gif [This message has been edited by alwalker (edited 18 June 2001).] [This message has been edited by alwalker (edited 18 June 2001).] [This message has been edited by alwalker (edited 18 June 2001).] |

LOL, Al!
No question, despite the brief time you've been here, you're one of the family! You've got enough personality to fill up three of these boards! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif Anyone who lists "Mac Computers" and "seduction" as two of his interests has gotta be a fascinating guy! Welcome! P.S. This line: Do not really no anyone yet, but from reading the post of the last year I do realize that there is one guy who really, really, really loves mail2world. made me laugh so hard I almost fell over! That guy's name is Mikey, and I cannot wait until the two of you have a chance to meet each other keyboard to keyboard, so to speak! Cheers! Heh EmailManiac! (and company, lol),
Thank you for the compliment! heehee, my new site ---> TheTripperFantastic.com/Mail (j/k, hahaha). Anyways, I have been here almost daily, with occasional breaks in between for a few days (up to a week) for a while now. I guess, like the rest of us, I will keep coming and enjoying the daily discussions or out little "pet peeve" we love so much...The day I leave is that day that RunBox.com buys Visto's webmail system, JungleMate's functions, and MochaMail's dependability....LAF...that day won't be here for a while, so I will see you on your 100th post maniac! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif P.S. From the smiles Al, I would say you almost have multiple personalities, LOL!! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/redface.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/cool.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/confused.gif [This message has been edited by Trip (edited 18 June 2001).] |

Hey emailmaniac and everyone!
I think I'm getting all mushy and emotional here. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif I'm touched to be mentioned E-maniac, I find it a big compliment. Thanks. I admire the regular posters here who do take time to share the news and help us out. I used to visit the site like 2-3 times a week when I first started because of my problems with hotpop and my search for new ones, then recently, over my summer break I picked up again and now I check in at the BB everyday. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif I just enjoy reading all the little side-notes and little squabbles *grins* going on. Hugz. And yes, I do look at the profiles of those members who have given a lot of help and are vocal. And um... Al (not sure if you're the one) choosing between Diganet and Yifan, go with Yifan! Wonderful service. *plug plug* And on a side-note, the ones I love reading, it's my birthday today (19th).. *hint hint* Maybe someone will come up with the perfect service *like the one you said Tripper* and will make me remember this year. Lol. And I'm limited on my smileys! I was always wanting to learn how to do the blinking ones. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif :] Sad isn't it? http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif Gotta go slave back to the school lib, take care everyone! txtbks and kisses, Camille [This message has been edited by Camille (edited 18 June 2001).] |

Hi Gang !! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif
Listen, I can't thank all of you enough for your very gracious replies. They confirmed my hunch that, although discussing email is naturally our chief topic here, many of us also enjoy having this forum where so many colorful characters come just to hang out and gab. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Before posting, I worried a bit about whether I'd be flamed for posting off-topic, so I'm encouraged that many of you seem to feel the same new-but-growing bonds of friendship here as I do. I hope we will all feel comfortable to return to this thread anytime we want to address a non-email-specific message to one of our companion posters. This idea first occurred to me, by the way, when about a month ago Computermail.net in Stockton, California, asked odedp in Tel-Aviv, Israel, how things were progressing in the strife-torn region of that troubled land. And odedp answered quite honestly that things weren't too good, times were tough, and that hopes for a lasting peace seemed completely elusive. (And this, of course, was before the horrible discotheque bombing that claimed so many innocent young lives.) Computermail.net said he would pray for peace and odedp said he was grateful, and then the thread returned to "What the heck happened to Jahoopa??" or whatever it was originally about. I was totally moved by the exchange and remember thinking, "We are real flesh-and-blood people, and we're getting to know each other! Friendships are forming! We should have a thread where, if we feel like it, we can kick off our shoes and just chat." I hope this can be that thread--available whenever we want it. Sorry I'm so wordy, gang! I have a tendency not to know when to shut-up already. Ivyleaf will tell you that it's been a problem of mine from way back. She tried to teach me how to be more brief (but I guess it hasn't sunk in yet, has it, you little hippie? http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif ). I need to say a quick word (yeah, right!) about my list above. I hope no one has felt insulted by not finding themselves mentioned. It definitely isn't my intention to create any sort of elite grouping. (For one thing, I don't have the authority, haha! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif ) These are simply the people that I personally feel I've come to know somewhat through their frequent posts, our direct exchanges, and from their profiles. But I'm hoping that we will all of us get to know each other a lot better! (alwalker has certainly become a welcome member in a short amount of time, and it looks like techlevel2 is trying to do it all in one day, lol! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif ) Now, a few fast responses and then I promise I won't say another word for a whole week! (At least I'll try not to, http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/wink.gif ) AVery Happy Birthday to you, Camille!!! Right now I'm sending big warm e-hugs plus lots of virtual ice cream and cake in your direction! I hope you have/had a wonderful day (and I hope you were able to take a little time out from studying to celebrate!) http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Best wishes to you! Ivyleaf, I mentioned you because a) you're definitely one of the reigning queens on this board--when I first came here, you were tireless in giving help, offering info and firing off answers; b)you're warm, open and friendly--I love the way you include your email address in your sign-offs, an invitation for anyone to write; c)but you can be sharp and sassy when needed, too--when asp_programmer was ridiculing everyone who didn't prefer his favorite provider (Mail2World, of course!), you stepped right up to the plate and gave it right back; d)you were the first person who ever joked around with me on what was otherwise a too-often angry and solemn bulletin board--remember all that teasing about ****cultivationMail? http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif ; and e)yes, your japhy powers! Trip, if you would ever like, I would be both happy and proud to turn over my emailmaniac title to you, because, bro, you ARE da Email-Man! Your description of the perfect provider: "RunBox.com buys Visto's webmail system, JungleMate's functions, and MochaMail's dependability..." is bull's-eye on target, and shows you've really thought it all out. But, like you say, we'll probably never see it, which is a good thing in a way, cuz it means we'll always want to keep coming back here, like a favorite diner that old friends keep meeting at over and over... And finally Nikolaos, if you're lurking out there somewhere, come back and see us sometime soon. You're still the best and dearly missed. Sorry to strain your patience, gang! And I really do appreciate your letting me ramble on with inexcusable excess this once. Now, like I promised, I'll keep quiet for at least a week! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif But all in all, I think this was the perfect way to commemorate my 100th post. Cheers to you all! Dave http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif |

Hey emailmaniac
Congratulations ... You have crossed 100 posts.... It's great to be among so many email maniacs . Before coming here I thought I am really mad to register for all the free email service and always search for newer ones. But after coming here I felt that I'm not alone and there are lot of maniacs out there. Now , I don't get sleep if I don't check this forum 3 or 4 times a day ... It's great to be here... Love from India, Gukein http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif |

Thanks for your kindness, Dave.
Yes, I must admit I was touched by the warm words Computermail.net wrote, and his deep concern about the tough situation here in Israel. It's a great privilege for me to be a part of such a unique group of wonderful people http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif Thank you all, my friends.
