Tuffmail lets me turn off the forward DNS filter, for that one incoming email address, without turning off MX filtering entirely or affecting filtering on other addresses. At Luxsci or Polarismail, for example, it appears you have no control whatsoever over what their MX filters do. You can only control the spam and virus filters.
Agreed... Tuffmail really has a great filtering system. I left Tuffmail a long time ago, but I still definitely miss that capability in other providers.

I'm using Polarismail now but I've used Tuffmail since 2007. I switched to Polaris several months ago before my yearly account with Tuffmail expired to allow a gradual transition of my emails. Interestingly, although my account is now past due by 2 months it still functions and I haven't gotten any warning emails from them. So maybe it's now free!

It's more likely that it is running on autopilot, and that nobody is in command of the ship

The service does seem to be stuck somewhere around 2006 or so, but I do get prompt email replies from Derek Ferguson.

The only changes that I have noticed in the years since Capo sold the service is the copyright notice at the bottom of the home page and the contact for support (phone number was removed). Other than that, it seems frozen in time. Especially for me today -- since I cannot even connect to Tuffmail website.

I've worked as a Support Representative for FuseMail for more than 3 years but quit in 2008 to pursue my studies. Do you have a vacancy in Tuffmail for a Support Representative which will work remotely? If yes, please email me at yashsr@gmail.com and will get in touch with my CV and other stuff.

That would be very welcome. Better contact Derek directly via email: support AT tuffmail.net.

Welcomed by Tuffmail customers. Derek will have to speak for his company. Right?

TuffMail uses soft transfer limits.

Transfers allowances are not hard limits. Your account will not be disabled if the allowance is exceeded. If your allowance is exceeded once in a while we will not notice. If your account exceeds its transfer allowance on a regular basis we will ask you to reduce your usage or make an additional payment.

Referring to the OP, Tuffmail is back in the hands of the original owners: John Capo and Gina Cupstid.
