K7.net is shutting down as of May 1, 2016
[Note - I'm putting this in "early warning" rather than the off-topic lounge, since the service does have an integral email-related component.]
K7.net is (soon to be "was") a useful unified messaging service that gives each user a free online phone number to receive both voicemail and fax messages, which can either be retrieved at the K7 site or forwarded to any email address in various selectable formats for text and audio. Users could upgrade to a paid service, but the free service was all I ever needed and it never went down or lost a message in all the years that I used it. (I have no connection with K7, just a satisfied user.) Unfortunately, they have announced they will be discontinuing the service as of May 1, 2016. It's a shame. It was a great convenience. I know there are alternatives, but K7.net was exactly what I needed, and it respected the privacy of its users and didn't ask for any personal information. Another good service bites the dust. |

This was a good one.
I guess not enough paid subscribers.
I have used this site for many years and it was very helpful for what it offered. Any other free service that offers the same service out there? |
