I signed up hey.com but found nothing special

I agree with this. Got the username I wanted and I'm forwarding my Google Suite email there.

I get the point that you can only allow through emails you want to deal with but it's a lot of effort to check the 'Imbox' and allow through what you want. Then you have to set up individual email notifications for each email chain. Basically, it's quicker to go through my inbox and delete what I want then respond to what I choose.

I get the idea of Hey but I'm just not the client they are looking for.

The concept appeals to me (read their manifesto), but I constantly feel that I miss mail. But maybe that is precisely the intention.

As I wrote in the other thread, I have always found automated filing of emails, whether I set it up or directed by the services AI, to be problematic. Too many things get misfiltered and then you have to do more work to find them and/or get them into the correct locations. Just easier to check each email as they come in chronological order and then do something with it. In my case, with Gmail I just star ones that require later work or thought, or a notice of something like a package being shipped, and then I have the desktop app setup to show the starred emails at the top. The rest just remain in the Inbox or get deleted right away. Google search finds things I need reliably and fast, so no need for extra labels or folders. Maybe a service like Hey is needed by people who receive hundreds of emails every day, but not me.

Here was my review after two weeks..

tldr

I'm the wrong customer as I don't have a mega spam problem nor a torrential downpour of new emails from many new senders coming in all the time.

To me they mostly built a new "email triage" system.
I personally just don't need that.

forcing to use their hey.com is a problem.

Now we are sending email from hey.com and later want to change, no option.

So need to keep live their hey.com email id. Bad idea

They need to come with domain support.

Pricing is a problem too. Even domain sales are not charging the same price for second year. regular renewal at USD 10 only. why is Hey.com charging USD 999 each year?

Someone has to have strong love with hey.com than can pay USD 999 for every year.

It’s $99/year. Only 2-characters addresses like ab@hey.com are $999/year.

I wonder how big the "first cohort" is? Maybe I'm wrong, but Hey seems to make a strong pitch to people who receive lots of unsolicited emails from people. I don't think most ordinary email consumers are in that boat. I very rarely get an unsolicited email from anyone. I get more at work, but still a minor thing to deal with. I suppose if you are one of these people that get pitched a lot you might want something that triages like Hey does.
