The name of my street is "Lane". This sometimes gets morphed by addressing software from "1xxx Lane Street" to "1xxx Ln", which makes it appear that the main street name is missing. And "Bill" is the nickname for my middle name (William). By dad was John Frank (lastname) and I was named John William (lastname) ... so since my dad was John or Johnny I was called Bill (from William). Not too unusual, in my opinion, but when someone only has my legal first and last name they wonder why "John" is called "Bill".

We have so many identifying codes associated with ourselves (or our property) these days. Due to a storm, my house lost electric power service yesterday. I found that there is a 17-digit ESI (Electric Service Identifier) and an 11-character Meter Number associated with the electric distribution, as well as a 7-character Account Number associated with the energy supplier (which in Texas can be different from the distribution provider -- my energy comes all from wind, solar, and hydroelectric sources). The repair service can use your 10-digit home phone number to look up these details in their database. I use a program on my PDA/cellphone to keep track of the many dozens of account numbers and passwords attributed to me.

Yes -- very common where the father/son have the same first name. I've seen a few occasions where the middle name is different, but in either situation, the son often goes with the middle name.
In my case, I'm the third. Initials are GEM -- George Eric M (last name). So... you get a "chip" off of a gem, but not sure how that morphed into Chipper.

I have a headache just reading this.

I just started doing this -- since I don't have a PDA, I have an Excel document. Has the following:
* Description
* Website or phone#
* User ID or account#
* Password
* E-mail addr associated with it -----> I use subdomain with my FM account. Examples:
amazonATmynameDOTfmaliasDOTdomainDOTtld -- order books online
code400ATmynameDOTfmaliasDOTdomainDOTtld -- programmer forum
etc

Middle name and street name doesn't really work, it's normally your first pet's name + street name.

But it seems to me that most of the security questions for sites use your first pet's name. So this would be an insecure user name, since you would be releasing that answer to the world.

Angry

I have had to register yet again. See my thread on "About this site" as to why.

As for my present user name: I wanted a funny username based on the juxtaposition of "evil" with something small, cute and fluffy (apart from a cat of course, they're widely known to be evil). As the Australians here will know, a quoll is a marsupial which resembles a spotted rat; very sweet. I was going to use "evilbunny", but too many others have used that one, and in any case "bunny" is a rude word in Australian English.

Amusing that after all these years, the latest post is from the original poster under another name!

I try to always use what you see here, (MikeBlake@wherever) though if that's been used I may add "RI" (my state) or "1".

Linux : my favorite OS, more specific Debian GNU/Linux and derivatives like LMDE, Ubuntu and derivatives like Linux Mint.

Arie : my first name. Just an ordinary name I always thought. A couple of years ago I searched if it had a special meaning, and it has : It comes from the Hebrew Ari, meaning Lion of God (my fathers parents came from what we called "bible belt")
