Reality TV shows!
Whats your favourite reality tv show? In Australia, Big Brother 3 has just launched on Channel Ten over the last week, with the highest ratings for any Australian tv show.
So whats your favourite reality tv show? Dan. |

I'll vote first
For 2 points, I nominate Big Brother to be the best reality tv show. Survivor, the tribe has spoken, its second place for you. Have fun voting Dan. |

I voted 'Don't watch'. The term 'Reality show' is an oxymoron... whatever happens there is not Reality, IMHO.

Is reality TV really that "reality"?? I find that they are using scripts that requires the characters going through some "similar in life" experiences. Only difference is that they are using normal people who wrote in to take part and there is a prize money.
I rather watch wrestling. They are of better reality TV to me |

Well they're about to announce the first big brother evictee!
By the way, I think big brother is more of a gameshow, in that the winner wins cash. Dan. |

I thought jenna was the fourth last voted off (she is the blonde chick, not the dark haired one, right)?
The last episode was aired this week in australia, but I wasn't able to watch it. I though mattew would have won, or that one who kept changing his alliances. |

Well, theres like a zillion different reality shows now since I last posted! Heres a few examples!
The Biggest Loser (about a bunch of overweight people who compete to lose weight) The X-factor (like Idol, actually an alright show) Dancing with the Stars Celebrity Makeover (or something lame like that, on channel 9/WIN) Playing it straight ( a show where a lady gets to pick her man, but half are gay and half are straight) This year in oz; Big Brother Survivour Australian and American Idol Are all making a comeback. Watch reality tv? |

I watch plenty of documentaries. But I guess this doesn't count as "reality TV shows"? When that term is used, I'm thinking more about "Married at First Sight", "Love Island", "Temptation Island", "Big Brother", etc. Never watched any of that, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything special.
I also feel like the hype about reality TV has been fading. Or maybe it's been so much a part of mainstream TV for so many years people still massively watch it but don't talk about it as often as if it's something radically new to discover? |
