What do you mean by "it comes up as"? Do you use that address to log in? Or is it an alias or disposable email address? My guess you are using the disposable email address feature:

Thanks for reminding me I don't need my Yahoo account, so I just deleted it. Was only for yahoo groups. I had no idea what my email was, different than login.

Have you actually gone into your Yahoo email settings and checked your alias and disposable email settings? If you have your default From address set to your alias, by default you will send using that alias From address. Of course, on the Compose screen you can click your From address and change it if you have an alias or disposable address set up.

In the latest user interface, look under:
Settings ... more settings >> Writing email >> Default sending address Bill |

In addition to the default sending address, check the default reply-to setting for that account. If yahoo webmail is similar to att/yahoo webmail (which I am familiar with and assume it's yahoo's code in the att/yahoo webmail) click,
settings -> more settings -> mailbox list (click account to bring up accounts setting on the right) The account's reply-to address can also be what is displayed in the From field when you do a compose. Not setting it implies use the account's email address. If there something in there you did not set I suggest you check all your other settings as well for safety.
