Jlmail.com is Back Online

Hi,

The Jlmail.com service is back online and offering the same features as it use to, and everythign is running fast and more reliable, apparently things were offline recently or for a long time due to a server move, which may epxlain why it was down for such a long time.

The website may be back, but I cannot log in with my older username or access via POP3.

Same for me (tested with POP3 and Webmail). Also, when I have tried to create the account, it is not possible because the username alrealy exists.

Sound like one of those services that come and gone in repeating cycle.

Hmm, I think a simple re-registirng fixes the problem, as it could be accounts were not transfered when they moved severs,

I had the same experience that Javier describes above. It won't accept my password and when I try to recreate the account, it tells me that that account already exists. And I can't see any link for recovering/resetting my password. So it doesn't look to me like it's ready for actual use yet, if it may ever be.

Or, maybe, forget JLMail, because it is a service that recurrently appears and dissappears, what makes it a non recommended and usable service

jlmail was a valiant effort made by a sixteen year old three or four years ago. At one point, he almost abandoned the project due to a breakup with his girlfriend.

There are lengthy threads on jlmail.

I've also been a long time user of JLmail, and this kind of off and then on thing has occurred quite a few times.

In the past re-signing up with the same username and password has worked.

I think I've finally reached the point where enough is enough -
and forgetting about this one.

Of course, I do realise that it is for free, and 'beggars can't be choosers' and all that kind of thing

I wish Jeremy the best - he was very nice to allow free users for all this time.

Hey,

I am so sorry about the down time I was trying to do an upgrade, and the upgrade failed to mention that the accounts would not be backed up and the systems engineer did the upgrade and we lost all of the account passwords, but I did recover the usernames. So email me for the info to login to your account. I am now putting full effort into the service to make sure nothing goes down I do not want to lose users because of a mistake please give JLmail.com one more chance and if it fails again then by all means I would quit the service too. Its a sad thing I have used JLmail just as long as everyone else, but I have had more problems then anything trying to keep everyone happy, but I will continue my effort and if there are any problems please do not hesitate please contact me you can do it by phone or email.

Sorry for the problems

JL

Come on, it's not like JL is charging money like the other (now-banned) guy is doing now. He 'fessed up and said he'll try harder. It's a learning experience, for him and us. If all you want is a free service that you use and expect it to be at the level you paid for, I think it being selfish. There is no free lunch.

Besides, his email admitting fault is what some other outfit isn't doing even when they have paying customers.
