An upstream network provider had unscheduled maintenance without telling us in advance. We will urge them to improve their routines as this is unacceptable to us and our customers.

We got a more detailed explanation now. What happend was that the upstream provider had scheduled a 20 minute downtime because of a router firmware upgrade. They did not alert us, because it should not affect us.

Unfortunatly it did affect us. We went down from 00:52 and came up again at 01:21. Then something must have gone wrong as we went down again at 01:22 and we did not come up again before 02:58.

I was in phone contact with them from 01:36 to get them to fix the problem.
