I managed to create an account at xPost.net okay.

I find the webmail interface a little "iffy" though. Sometimes simple is better.

I have to wonder about the 2nd choice for domain, "toys4bigboys.net".

POP3 & SMTP work okay.

Exclamation emailacc.com webmail

emailacc.com has restricted webmail to their ISP customers. POP3 still works for the rest of us.

Exclamation myecom.net

It looks like myecom.net has dropped their e-mail service.

thanks CyberSmurf..
I've removed myecom.net from the list. Though there are no links to the free website hosting in its homepage, http://freehost.myecom.net still works.. But http://forums.myecom.net does not work.. I feel there might possibly be a change of service plans or stoppage of the free services..

I just tested in Outlook Express, but IMAP is not working. But in its website, I found this in its help:

Mail Server Host
Specifies the mail server host name for the server where the messages are kept. This can be either a POP3 server or an IMAP4 server. If you need to specify the port for the server you have to use the ":" character. If you want to specify an IMAP4 server you have to include the "," character at the end of the host name following with the mailbox name on the IMAP4 server. See the examples:

mail.domain.com - standard POP3 server
mail.domain.com:143 - standard POP3 server on the port 143
mail.domain.com:143,INBOX - IMAP4 server on the port 143 with the INBOX mailbox

could anybody explain why this does'nt work..?

(1)It tells that zonedrop.com can collects email from other pop server without port # or imap server to zonedrop.com's folder or inbox. with port 143
But
(2) It does not tell that can use OE ( mail client sofware ) to collect email from zonedrop .com to OE.
That is why you cannot use OE to collect email from zonedrop.com

That looks to me how to specify IMAP in collecting mail from other servers, not in accessing their server.

Merak/Visnetic/Iceweb don't turn on IMAP access to the local mail store by default.
