Search engines for better privacy

I know about Startpage and DuckDuckGo, but here are a bunch more - Qwant, Ecosia, etc.

Since duckduckgo is offered as an optional search in many browsers, I've stuck with it although it was recently accused of fingerprinting.

I'm not crazy about some of the others. Searx is interesting.

Metager was not mentioned. Primarily German but also an English choice.

I've been trying to use DuckDuckGo. Not just because of the privacy, but I want to get authentic results, not what Google wants me to see first.

Sure. You see what DuckDuckGo wants you to see first.
