Domain Transfer from GoDaddy to Namecheap
Hello,
I am considering transferring a domain name from Godaddy to Namecheap.... anyone ever done this? I also use Domain By Proxy at GoDaddy as well. How long does the process take, etc.? PS. I have never transferred a Domain Name before. Thanks for any information. David |

Namesilo is better than namecheap.
I switched from namecheap to namesilo because namecheap became tor-hostile. Namecheap also charges extra for privacy (whois guard doesn't cost them anything extra to add a domain name). It's a money grab that they do. Another trick namecheap does is they have a way of making the privacy subscription get out of alignment with the DNS reg, so your records become exposed near the end. It's a way to get you to pay for an extra year of privacy even if you intend to transfer out. Namesilo is cheap, and it *includes* the privacy guard (as it should). Namesilo is also tor-friendly. |

Disabling WhoIs privacy is one of the steps before transferring a domain to a another registrar.

Namesilo
Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the information on Namesilo. I am looking at their website currently. The domain name I have at Godaddy was the first domain name I ever purchased. And since Pobox was bought out by Fastmail I am considering my options on what to do with the domain name since I have a Mailstore account. Thanks again for the help and information. David |

Transferred Domain E-mail to Luxsci
Hello,
Just a quick update: As a temporary measure I transferred the domain e-mail to my Luxsci account. I hope to eventually transfer the domain completely out of Godaddy in the near future. Thanks again for the help. David |
