New Hardware
Just to let you know, we've recently bought a new storage unit.
This unit adds about 3 terabyte to our storage network, which should last for a while. Also, as you may have noticed in another thread, we've also ordered a new database server. This is a dual 2.8 GHz 64 bit Xeon machine with 4GB RAM and 6 15000 rpm harddrives in a raid10 configuration. When this arrives, we'll move our main database to it, and let the old server take care of dspam. The server is scheduled to arrive 20. september, but it's been postponed several times, so it may take a couple of more weeks. |

Put like that, it doesn't seem like it will last that long...

Hi Liz,
There was a thread elsewhere on emaildiscussions.com where email service providers were discussing on average what proportion of users' max storage quota the users were actually using. I think most numbers were in the 30-40% range (so for e.g. if the average user was entitled to 1 GB storage they used 300-400 MB storage). What are the similar stats for Runbox? Would be interesting to see |

Well, we don't really know yet. People didn't fill their quotas when we offered 100MB, but after we increased the quota, average usage has increased steadily. It has doubled in two months, and it's a bit hard to predict where it'll stabilize.

For now, it's nowhere close to 30-40% though (good thing too ).
