mail servers changing to
mail.messagingengine.com suggest change in your email client - are you using Outlook Express, Outlook? Just now, I was able to access http://www.fastem.com , so maybe more than mail server names - as prob. were working for you - could be ISP or similar problem? |

Can't get to mail.messagingengine.com either. Could someone to a DNS lookup on the above and see what you come up with? I get 66.111.4.60. Thanks.

I haven't been able to open fastmail for the last ten minutes. Neither thru the web interface or with Outlook...
I can sucsessfully open other sites on the web (just tested ZdNet.com, Fastem.com, www.fm and of course emailaddresses.com). Anyone currently logged into fm? |

If you're running any other flavor of Windows simply open "MsDos command prompt"
([Start->Run] then type "command" and click the [Ok] button). From there simply type "ping fastmail.fm"... this approch works in WinXP as well... Ping will get the Ip address and test (ping) the server for response... (fastmail.fm resolves to 66.111.4.62...) Last edited by vidvandre : 2 Jul 2003 at 10:10 AM. |

I can't ping it, and when I scan it I dont get any HTTP or IMAP ports open. DNS resolves fine, so that not the problem. Any other ideas? Has any equipment moved around today?

I know there been some work with the system lately, but since fmfan can open/use the system I don't think that is causing the problems...
Does fm use different servers for people based in europe/us? Where are you based jasoncout? |
