to fall short Thanks for the rule 3 clarification. The original rule didn't say that the three unchanged letters had to be contiguous. It didn't mention inserting or deleting letters, just changing a single letter -- but the first post deleted a letter and added a letter at another location, and there was no rule stating where you could add a letter after you removed one. So the way I understand your rule 3 now has no reason for the "remain in the same order" phrase. It could be replaced by: "You must delete any of the four letters, then insert a replacement letter at one of three locations: the original deleted letter location, before the first letter, or after the final letter." |
