Scamcop listing today
Ok, we got listed on spamcop.net again today. Obviously that's bad
However, there is some good news. Due to a bug in some rate limiting code, some people were able to send well above their hourly message rate limit. That's how a guest user managed to send significantly > 80 emails in an hour and get us listed. We've tracked down this bug, and it should be fixed now, so this shouldn't happen again! Hopefully this will have a 2 fold effect: 1. Stop the sending of large numbers of emails, and lock accounts before there's a significant number sent 2. Discourage this spammers full stop, so that they don't even try in the first place I'll keep an eye on things over the next couple of days, just check that it's definitely closed. Rob |

Re: Scamcop listing today
It seems like this one got resolved quickly, so that's good to see.
Well - stuff happens ... Counting on the FM team to keep improving system to defend against abuse by spammers. |
