FastMail on Twitter reported:

Service is currently unavailable due to a failure at our data center. We'll provide more information as soon as possible.

Working for me now too.

FastMail has become steadily less communicative about outages and other issues over the last few years. It used to be one of their strengths, but they seem to have decided that it is not worth the trouble. A great shame.

That's too bad. I did not sign on to FastMail because I thought I would have 24/7/365 non-interrupted access. Outages, software/hardware failures, data center issues - they all happen. It doesn't make sense to me to list some issues and not others, even if they're short-lived (or considered embarrassing to them).

I've asked this question on behalf of @EMDiscussions on Twitter, and note that others have asked also.

FastMail have not - at time of writing - responded to anyone on their Twitter account either.

I'm guessing that whoever updates the status page is on vacation in Russia, following The Socceroos.

That was quick!

FastMail just responded to us on Twitter:

Thanks for pointing that out! The staff on call during yesterday's incident didn't know how to update it when the data center was offline. We'll sort it out today.
