It seems that the Scaffold had a much wider audience than I ever imagined! I guess that we should all drink-a-drink-a-drink to..........

Hey shenton ...you just inspired me to download that song tonight! great to hear it again after all these years!

Of course I deleted it once I had listened to it, I wouldn't want to break the law or anything

"Music was my first love,
and it will be my last,
music of the future,
and music of the past,
to live without my music,
would be impossible to do,
cos in this world of trouble,
my music pulls me through"

John Miles ~ Music

Why would I chase your shadow all my life
And be afraid of my own?
I'd rather be with you
I'd rather not know
Where I'll be than
Be alone and convinced that I know

Everything I know has let me down
So I will just let go
Let you turn me inside out
Cause I know I'm not sure
About anything
But you wouldn't have it any other way

In my eyes you see
the way it used to be.
Take a look and see,
the light still shines in me

Theres a part of me,
that I forgot to be.
Take a look and see,
The light still shines in me

In your arms it seems,
you've taken all my dreams
Take a look and see
The light still shines in me

Theres a part of me,
that I forgot to be.
Take a look and see,
The light still shines in me

Run

Are these times contagious
I've never been this bored before
Is this the prize I've waited for
Now with the hours passing
There's nothing left here to insure
I long to find a messenger

Have I got a long way to run
Have I got a long way to run
Yeah, I run

Is there a cure among us
From this processed sanity
I weaken with each voice that sings
Now, in this world of purchase
I'm going to buy back memories
To awaken some old qualities

The Verve
'Bittersweet Symphony'

'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
Try to make ends meet
You're a slave to money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places
where all the veins meet yeah,

No change, I can change
I can change, I can change
But I'm here in my mold
I am here in my mold
But I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mold
No, no, no, no, no

Well I never pray
But tonight I'm on my knees yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now
But the airways are clean and there's nobody singing to me now

I loved that song too! I've always liked strings or/and brass in rock music. Richard Ashcroft's solo albums have some good lyrics but I'm struggling to recall them at the moment ...must be the vino

Jimmy Eat World - In the middle

Hey,
Don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out -
or looked down on.
Just do your best, try your best,
do everything you can.
And don't you worry what the bitter hearts are gonna say.

Depends on the mood....

Current mood:

...

I'm dreaming of you tonight
'Til tomorrow I'll be holding you tight
And there's no where in the world I'd rather be
Then here in my room, dreaming about you and me

...

Heard this song from a rockola once.

Challenge: Without doing a SEARCH, who knows who sings it?
