Receiving emails has been fine for me although admittedly the smtp server has never worked when I have tried to use it.

Quoted from the MyRealBox website :
"MyRealbox News Mar 07, 2008 NOTICE: We think we have most of the problems that have been occurring fixed, all of which turned out to be OS related. The system has been stable for three days now, and we think it should continue to do so. Our M+ Guardian server has been handling roughly 6 million messages per day, and is holding steady at that amount. Which is quite a bit more continuous mail than we've ever had to deal with before. We thank you for your patience. Also we are aware of the expired SSL certificates on MRB. We are still waiting on our provider and will have it updated as soon as we have the new certificate. Thank You, The MyRealBox Support Team" |

MyRealbox certainly has deteriated dramatically since the new mob took it over and it seems to be getting worse. Not only are emails sometimes taking ages to get through, some are not getting through at all, my son is also experiencing the same problems with MyRealbox. Some of my contacts are having to use my non MyRealbox addresses to reach me, emails they send to my MyRealbox address are returned with "site blocked" etc messages.
Also the amount of spam possibles to be sorted is horrific, the last batch contained 321 addresses and only two were not spam. My belief that M A want to unload some of us if not all grows stronger by the day, I can't believe it should take this long to sort out the problems, I will hang on to my Myrealbox address out of obstinacy. |

lol.....feel the same way. I don't use it much (and, actually, can't if I wanted to), but I keep the hope that the service will make a turn-around someday.

I have a Hotmail (free) address which is now heaps better than MyRealbox, very little spam, no down times. Some years ago my Hotmail address was receiving loads of spam so I got a MyRealbox address, now Hotmail has come good. Perhaps M A need to headhunt some Hotmail personnel |

What really gets me is the lack of support. I never receive a reply when I send them an email. It's a shame really, my MRB account is the oldest email address I still have and it worked really well before MA got their hands on it. Last edited by pin : 2 Apr 2008 at 01:34 AM. |

In my experience, MRB was never reliable enough to use as a regular email account, being a testbed and subject to frequent outages. I likewise keep my MRB address alive pretty much for nostalgic reasons alone.

MyRealBox
I finally gave up on MyRealBox for too many downtimes, service outages, and the service not evolving or adding any features after more than a decade.

I'm afraid it's time to say goodbye to MRB for me too. Even if they get over the current problems with mail not getting through (which have been ongoing now to my recollection for at least 2 weeks), it won't matter because so many of my regular recipient's ISPs have now blacklisted MRB as a valid sender that virtually nothing gets through anyway.
With the current situation of warning bounce messages not coming back either, this is highly annoying. I've been sending the same e-mail for over a week with no knowledge at all that it hasn't been getting through. |

If you're using MyRealBox for anything at all, I suggest setting up forwarding to, or popping your mailbox with, another service with spam filters.

Well, all I seem to receive is spam and more spam and nothing but that.

They came back working again for a while, but now they're down again. No POP3 and the webmail has no access either.
