A nice little comparison there, albeit a little dated.

Alternatively, on the pay side of things, there is also Zimbra and @mail which look very nice!

Do those address most of what you need?

Hi Trip,

Thank!

We are using "Netscape Messaging Server" and is looking for something compatible
that can replace the server.

If you can give further guide that will be great.

Hi Trip,

Just quick update, I think Zimbra open source version is also look promising.

I'm planning to install the server on Redhat Linux 4 and will test the system.

I'll update you how this open source program works.

thanks !

Use whatever Fastmail.fm uses? It uses Cyrus server.

I would suggest you to enable IMAP, it will save a lot of bandwidth and potential hassles.

Better keep an eye on Hula, too. It's what Myrealbox.com uses. Messaging Architects have taken it over from Novell, and from what I've heard here at Brainshare 2007, it promises to be a nice piece of software.

I've had to use it a couple of times the last few years, not something I'd recommend for the faint-hearted. It must be one of the crappiest applications I've ever used - don't think they could have gotten more bugs and issues into it if they'd tried. The app is especially lacking when it comes browser support, standards compliance (with regards to established email standards), i18n, accessibility and a myriad of UI annoyances. The worst part is the crap output - resulting in email often being considered to be spam by receiving mail servers due to the many faults and/or issues the messages have. IIRC the last time I used @mail for more than four minutes, I used version 4.11, so hopefully they've managed to fix some of the issues in later releases (if there are any)...

The phrase "@mail is unusable for my clients who need webmail" is a common conclusion at another forum I spend some time on... (The forum has restricted access, so you have to take my word for it.)
