Is calendar reminders for all-day events broken?

For some unknown reason, my calendar reminders for all-day events will start using a different time zone to the one I have set. This has been an ongoing issue for me. I don't know what is triggering it; I haven't changed any of my settings.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

If it helps, I have Australian Eastern Daylight Time (GMT+11) as my time zone. Should I be using Floating time?

Thanks.

I think I figured out which time zone it's been using: Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

I had a reminder set for 8:00 AM today, but it popped up 11 hours later at 7:00 PM. And AEDT is GMT+11.

I don?t see any problems with my notifications. But you should realize that the ?floating time? zone has to make the calendar appear correct in all time zones your PC is set to as you travel, so I believe that it will generate the reminders at the GMT time you selected. That?s probably what is happening.

Thanks for the response Bill.

After some further investigating, I think I figured out the problem and the solution.

The problem
The problem was only occurring for calendars that I had recently created. For some reason, the default time zone in my settings wasn't applying to these newly created calendars. This isn't a problem for non-all-day events as there is a time zone option when creating those events, with your chosen time zone being the default. However, for all-day events the time zone option isn't present. And for whatever reason, my default time zone setting wasn't being applied, with GMT being used instead.

The solution
After creating a new calendar, go to your settings and change your default time zone to any other time zone, and then change it back to the one you want. The new calendar will now use your default time zone for all-day events.
