Is Facebook's cookie to follow you browser-specific?

As stated in the other topic, I recently upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Hence I am no longer having Internet Explorer as main browser, but Microsoft Edge.

It's common knowledge Facebook can follow you (logging your IP address, browser type, websites you visit, ...) once you've signed into Facebook once. But is this browser specific or not? The previous times I've signed into FB I was still using Internet Explorer. Can Facebook still follow which websites I visit when I am browsing the web in MS Edge, a browser from which I haven't signed into FB yet? Or can Facebook only follow the websites you visit via the same browser you use to access Facebook?

(if the latter would be correct, it'd be as easy as using a browser i rarely use, such as Opera, for Facebook and visit any other website through Microsoft Edge or Firefox)

Using Windows 10 you should be more worried about Microsoft
About facebook, use an ad blocker (ublock origin).

But is it correct that if you sign into Facebook from one browser (let's say Opera for example), that they can only track the websites you're visiting in that same browser? So if you sign into FB from Opera but you use Microsoft Edge or Firefox for all other websites, does that mean Facebook cannot trace those websites you visit in that other browser?

If you are using the same IP with another browser, then they know itīs you with another browser.

So using a different browser for Facebook than for any other website wouldn't make a difference?

What about the fact that I didn't access FB as yet since the upgrade to Windows 10 (including the switch from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge)?

If you show your ID in facebook and then everywhere you go (your ip) and you don't block facebook buttons in websites (as I said: use "block origin" add blocker addon) then you know the answer.
