Spam false positives

I’ve seen an upturn in spam false positives recently, triggered by a rule “ME_CMSPAM_100 4” which tips a message over the threshold for Junk / Spam classification. This is against mail from various, long-standing distributors of messages that I want to receive and which have not caused problems before.

Anyone else seen this?

The search engines don’t seem to know anything about “ME_CMSPAM_100”.

Yes, I have been getting some of these recently also. Can you file a support request?

I filed a support request and the response I received is:

The problem here is that these emails have content in them that match emails that were reported as spammy by a large number of users, and hence the spam filtering.

We are moving to a better spam filtering software, and we hope that this will improve the overall filtering level. Unfortunately, this is going to take a couple of months I believe.
One particular false positive was regularly recurring so I whitelisted the sender and that problem went away. But since my first post all the other false positives have ceased too.
