Pobox user now can be migrated to FM
As you may know, Pobox was acquired by FastMail last November. Since then, we've been working hard to add their best-in-class services to Mailstore. Today, we're pleased to offer you early access to webmail, calendars and contacts!
Just go to www.fastmail.com, and log in with ***@pobox.com. Two-factor auth users, please click "More" to enter your 2FA credentials in one step. Please note: Both FastMail and Pobox Webmail access the same mail. For calendars and contacts, however, they are copies. Updates made to your calendars and contacts on FastMail will not be updated on Pobox, or vice versa. If you are a heavy calendar/contact user, we recommend switching to FastMail immediately. What's different about FastMail? FastMail supports both Archive and Delete. Archive moves mail in the current folder into the Archive folder. Archived messages are kept for search or viewing in conversations. Delete moves mail to the trash, and should be for mail destined for permanent removal. Deleted messages will not appear in searches or conversations. All your Pobox addresses have been set up as sending personalities. You can edit or remove unwanted ones in your Mail Accounts settings. What's new with FastMail? Migrating from Pobox to FastMail webmail will give you access to FastMail's full suite of access options -- webmail that's optimized for a range of device sizes, plus native apps for both iOS and Android. It has speedy full text cross-folder search, and keyboard shortcuts for power users. The calendars and contacts are a huge leap forward, and include invitations, improved support for use on other devices, and drag-and-drop editing. Conversations provides a threaded view of messages, including messages in other folders. Please note: To match Pobox's behavior, Delete for conversations is set to only act on the current folder. It has an option to act on "all folders", too. Please be aware, if you switch to that option, Sent and Mailstore Archive folders are included in "all". Let us know You're getting early access because you asked to migrate immediately, you're a power webmail user, or you're a friend of Pobox. If you see anything that looks broken, let us know so we can get it fixed. If you see something that looks intentional, but you think might specifically confuse other Pobox users, let us know so we can write a help page or include it in later messages like this one. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we hope you love the new webmail interface! cheers Pobox Customer Service pobox@pobox.com https://www.pobox.com |

Nothing has changed in Pobox's forwarding product. This is only about the webmail client used to access Mailstore. |

We're currently reviewing the file storage features generally, and will consider how this interacts with Pobox users. |

For anything else, please contact Pobox support. I'm not personally able to help with Pobox-specific features. |

Confused: What should I do?
So here is my current situation:
I have a Fastmail Enhanced account paid up to December 2020. (My account includes also extra 500MB storage which I bought very long time ago.) I have a Pobox Plus account paid up to July 2019. I use only Fastmail's web interface for handling my emails (no 2FA) And I use of course Fastmail's file storage where I keep many important files. I thought that if I'll cancel my Fastmail account and upgrade to Pobox Mailstore I'll save some money (pay just $50 per year) and still be able to handle my emails via Fastmail's web interface. But I need to be sure that I won't lose a single mail or single file by doing so. Maybe there is another option? Or maybe for the time being I should do nothing and just wait? So what I'm asking is: What should I do? (if anything at all...} |
