The Rich Text feature does not allow the user to write HTML. You can cut and paste an image into the message body (Ctl-C / Ctl-V) to see inline images directly in the message. Or you can enter some text, select the text, and use the link tool on the Rich Text toolbar to associate a URL link with that text.

In Windows, I can often right-click a displayed image and copy the image into the Windows clipboard. I also use the Windows snipping tool, and I find it very useful:

If the image resides on your computer, you can also use the Insert Image button on the compose toolbar.
I mistakenly thought you could also drag-and-drop the image, but it appears that merely attaches the file and doesn't display it inline. |

I just copy and paste a photo and that works really well so perhaps Fastmail have changed a few things over the last couple of weeks.

I've generally moved away from just putting in image tags for that reason... More than a few times, the recipient couldn't actually load the image. Unless it's excessively large, it's usually far more reliable just to attach it (plus the recipient doesn't need an Internet connection to see it). |
