Opinions Regarding These Non-US E-mail Services!!

Hi EMD,

In my pursuit of finding a viable Non-US based E-mail service, I've made a couple of accounts with the following email providers. Kindly share your reviews and opinions (Common Parameters like - POP/IMAP support, filters, Inactivity limits etc.) if you guys/gals use any or all of them.

1.) www.mail.ru
2.) www.qip.ru
3.) www.rambler.ru
4.) www.inbox.lv
5.) www.mail.lv

Seems a rather quaint selection of non-US email providers. Why did you go with them instead of the more frequently mentioned services like Runbox or EUMX?

Simply because I just want to use the free E-mail services, and as far as I know, both EuMX and Runbox are paid services.

You could request a gift account from EuMX - do a PM to Fabule.

After all, you have been a forum member here for ca. 3 years - I'm sure he would consider your request.

Going from memory here, I think the condition was 100 posts. But he (Fabule) has the right to change that if he wishes.

Ah.. I do wish he considers the time I've been a member here. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait till my post count reaches 100. Thanks for the heads up, anyway.

Do they all have "secure" logins and sessions? If so, that is a good start.

Pretty hard to beat yandex imo.

@silverthe1: did you try also:

http://www.shtrudel.com/
(Israeli based)

and speedmail.se (pls use a Swedish proxy if not in Sweden only to sign up,after that you do not need it anymore)

jubii.dk is also pretty cool and uses the servers of spray....it´s based in Denmark.

and yes I agree with beeboy Yandex is a pretty good solid FREE service!! You should check it out,it has a lot to offer.
Mail.ru is imho almost as good as Yandex.

all above services are free. And AFAIK NON-US based;-) Correct me if I am wrong.

cheers

For a non US service, which appeals more every day, I would go with 'Runbox' (which I am using now) or EuMX, which was mentioned before. Both are very good and have been found (by members of these forums) to be reliable, and to have a good degree of respectability.

The total freebies, though they may be appealing (to those with little resources) I have usually (in the past) found to be duds

Thanks for the response. I've checked Shtrudel, but for some reason its interface appears a bit clunky to me. Though I'm sure it can be accessed via POP/IMAP easily

And yeah, all the above services are good, atleast for casual conversations, and that includes Yandex too.

Well said, though free services work well for me, I've seen really good reviews of EuMX here. I requested their support for a Gift account, and was given the same. Couldn't be happier. Looks great.

Mail.be
Seznam.cz / Email.cz
Centrum.cz
Safe-Mail.net
Yandex.ru
InMail.pl
Web.de
Terra.es
LaPoste.fr
Virgilio.it
(not sure if still operating) Mail.gr
Mail.by
Mail.az
Mail.ir
several Indian providers (but not sure of the names by heart, except for in.com)
Yalla.co.il
ireland.com (though not sure if that one is free or not)

I'm not gonna judge them as I have not used most of them (I have used Safe Mail, from Israel, for over 5 years now and exrtremely satisfied. The others I haven't used) but all these services have been around for years and seem to be stable as a rock. Some of them received praise too (eg Seznam, Virgilio, Yandex, mail.be , ...) on and off this forum.
