How do I turn off an alias temporarily?
As per subject "How do I turn off an alias temporarily?".
Specifically I have a Fastmail alias which I wish to keep long term, but for now it is being swamped with unsolicited email (spam). Is there a way I can 'turn off' this alias and then maybe in a few weeks time turn it on again. I'd like it so that hard bounces are generated in the hope that the alias, over a few weeks, would get off spammers lists. Obviously I could set a discard rule, but that would not generate hard bounces (550 5.1.1 : Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table.) I receive my main email via my own domains, so the legitimate email on the Fastmail alias is low. Ed |

Under Settings - Aliases, there's a checkbox list headed "Active" that I assume does what you want.
