Where is everyone?
Hi,
Normally this site is buzzing and has several people posting a day but recently it all seems to have slowed to a crawl and the site feels a little abbandoned it makes me wonder where evweryone is, I know the Credit crunch seems to be hitting the shops etc but it seems to have hit this site to with it going very quiet for at least three days now which is most unusual. |

I suggested that it was my posting too frequent, flooding as I name it.
Such could even brake the most patient member of a forum. But that is my wild guess but I noticed strong irritation from at least 4 frequent posters and two of them have stopped posting. The other two now and then write comments to me that does indicate they are frustrated by my naive style. I tried to post less frequently and I changed user name from drew to nooby to ease their pain but it doesn't seem to help. The alternative would be me go total silent but that is not something I want to do cause this forum is the best there is apart from nooby posting a bit too often and not on par in knowledge sadly. So! What do you say?. It could be my bad or fault? |

Absolutely not. It is the US Thanksgiving today. I'm north of the US and am very tired of "Black Friday" commercials on TV. I'm sure between the eating of turkey and visiting with family many members are getting their shopping lists together. BTW, U.S. Television is much better than Canadian TV. |

If that's true, then Canadian TV must be truly horrible. At least based on the last time I watched U.S TV on a semi-regular basis, although that was probably close to 10 years ago. (I no longer even have TV reception where I am, no antenna for my small portable TV, which I now only occasionally use to watch old VHS tapes -- yes, I said VHS, I've still never even owned a DVD player -- and don't consider "pay TV" worth paying for.)

Here is a link to Turkey music during the dinner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8-EwoXMjSI uzun ince bir yoldayim one possible translation of first verse I'm on a long and narrow road On my way morning and night I don't know what state i'm in I'm on my way morning and night Tarkan is more like a Pop musician but the original singer and lyric writer is a famous guy Aşık Veysel. I love that melody, the text is ok too. Existential reflecting over our short life and hardship during it. Rules, hope it is not too illegal to link to youtube? Thank you. I've been here off and on... many sites are slow today.... have been since the 4th of Nov... one site I visited just died... seriously... it died... others are slowing winding down. There always seem to be a slowdown during the holidays on some sites though... ones I visit anyway. I think the students will start hitting the books for finals next week... people spending time with family. |

Well, for some reason this forum has been unavailable to me ever since Thanksgiving or so. When I went to ping emaildiscussions.com, it just timed out. However, I was able to access it with a proxy, so I'm not quite sure what was wrong.
Anyways, I'm back. |
