Any way to organize search results by folders?

The classic interface automatically grouped search results within folders. Is there a way to get the new interface to do that?

nice... That's a good question...
I'll take a look an report back...
EDIT:

N.O.P.E. I checked the search function including the advanced mode..
I did NOT see any options to make it sort by folder... per-say.....
I did a search of "help" in my FastMail account...
found 193 emails... lol WoW
they seem to be automatically arranged/sorted/grouped by folder...

BUT there is NO obvious folder header or horizontal divider to separate this massive search results I got...
into more easy readable chunks...

go start a support ticket for this great idea...

EDIT2:
ooh YEaH the search in Classic UI is SO MUCH BETTER, results looks so much more readable being grouped by folder
- folder name/title/header
- horizontal rule to separate each folders readout.. making the entire search result list readable

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm afraid this is not on our immediate roadmap, however we will take your suggestion onboard in our future product planning.
Regards.

I looked away then, sad beyond measure; I felt tears behind my eyes. I wanted it to live. But no, they murdered it. They seduced me, then betrayed me. Have they no shame, no honor, no manly virtue? No common decency? No human empathy, no humanity?

After getting the reply above from Fastmail support, I told them if I can't find messages, the service isn't much good and got this response:

"I understand your concern.
We have already passed your feedback to the concerned team.
Let me know if you need any further assistance from us."

So maybe there's some hope.

It's easy to search in only one folder. If you search in all folders, the folder containing the message is shown at the right and you can sort by date/time, sender, subject, and size. But you are correct, you can't sort by the folder.

Thanks very much, Bill.

There's such a narrow margin between the end of the subject and the name of the folder the message is in that I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out. Sorting after the search, of course, is an extra step, but because of the way I've set up my file into folder rules, sorting by sender after my test search pretty much returned a list where the folders were grouped together. And I can further narrow it down by using boolean operators. This change may just require some getting used to, now that I understand it better.

My approach to the transition has been to use the classic interface as much as I can and so I have not looked too deeply into the new interface. Although even if I had I may have missed the list of folders to the right of the subject list as the demarcation between them is very small and the alignment of folders is flush left rather than the traditional flush right, so unexpected.

Thanks again for opening my eyes.
