Fastmail calendar reminder sound?

Experimenting with Fastmail calendar in browser (Firefox). Is there any way to sound an alarm when the reminder appears? - For the time being, I have a small pop-up at the bottom of the screen in lieu of reminder; it would be much better with a bell of some kind. Any suggestions?

If you have not already done so, see if the information on this page helps.

As mentioned on the page, the exact form notifications take depends on support by your browser. Some support sound notifications directly, while others can do it via extensions.

The Fastmail help page says "You will need to grant Fastmail permission to show notifications in your browser for notifications to work." - So, in Firefox Win10, I have granted all permissions to domain app.fastmail.com and now the browser page displaying the calendar also displays an icon of 2 sliders next to the padlock, on mouseover "You have granted this web site additional permissions."

And notifications have completely disappeared. I mean even the small pop-up window which appeared before, no longer appears. Hmmm don't fix what ain't broken maybe?

I will try to use email as notifications and see how it goes.

Firefox v111.0 was released a couple of weeks ago.

I /always/ read the "What's New?" page - which one can get to from Firefox's Help - About Firefox - What's New (that link being in the text on the "About" pane).

For v111 (which has since been superseded by v111.1), it says this:

NEW Windows native notifications are now enabled.

- but doesn't give any details about what the implications may be, not least for however notifications were previously handled.
