Mail2world.com

Yeah, I agree mail2world is great. Its got a great interface, nice features, enough space for my needs, and best of all its free. I tried to get my brother to start using it, but he said hotmail was just fine for him. Did you know that hotmail charges about what $10 a year if you want 10 mb of space. What a ripoff, M2W gives you that for free.

Why? This post could be more informative. What other services have you tried? Why is M2W better than them? What are you looking for in an email service?

I have joined these 2 almost identical threads, started by the same person (user "Unregistered"), since there's no point in having both of them.

It's not entirely clear there's any point in having even one of them, unless - as Jeremy says - more information is provided.

Is the "Mikey" reference an inside joke? In which case, would somebody care to let the rest of us in on it?

Edwin

Mikey was a one-track mind, he would not engage completely with us and I think we annoyed him enough to drive him off. He liked Mail2World a little fanatically. It's all in the record, it shows Edwin has a life if he can moderate the board and not remember Mikey.

First of all, you've started a separate thread to answer questions I posed in another thread--not really a helpful approach... And secondly, you haven't actually answered them. So I'll ask again--what else have you tried? What are your specific needs? Why is M2W the best at meeting those needs compared to the other services you have tried? Copying and pasting the feature list from their web site does not answer these questions. It fails to mention:
  • those places where M2W is not best practice (10MB storage is OK but there are higher quotas around)
  • Which of these features that are completely standard (Preferences! Secure browsing! )
  • What commonly requested features are missing entirely (free POP access, IMAP access, access to HotMail accounts)
  • What features genuinely are interesting and different (virtual international keyboards, email translation).
Calling something the 'best' email service is a little crazy--if you've really tried all the alternatives, you could opt for "the best for my needs", but really "my favorite from these alternatives..." would be a little more balanced, don't you think?

gee, it's ok to not like hotmail, but to insult another service because it has hotmail users on it?

Noone has a problem with you liking mail2world, but I think we'd all appreciate it if you listed reasons and not insulted those who disagree with you...

just my 2 cents, i apologise if i'm overreacting

Mail2World is OK

M2W is alright, but it really has only two things going for it that set it apart from other services:

1) It does have some neat domain names, but that isn't something critical when looking for a good email service.
2) The language capabilities. If you have reason to regularly use the translation capabilities of M2W, then that is reason enough to want to use this service. I don't, but I have an account there because of that feature.

My point is that "best" is relative. If something suits your needs, then it is best for you. That doesn't make it best for everyone. To state otherwise with no explanation of why you think it best is, frankly, quite rude.
