Mail Fetch from Outlook.com

As I pointed out in an EMD Email Comments, Questions and Miscellaneous forum thread, Fastmail fetch of email from my outlook.com account failed starting January 29, 2024. As I described in that thread, Microsoft says they fixed the issues today (two days later).

Outlook.com requires eiher two step authentication or an application password. With Mail Fetch you need the application password. So to be sure the fetch would work properly, I cleared out my old outlook.com application passwords and generated a new one for Fastmail. The Microsoft instructions for generating such a password are here:

The Fastmail Mail Fetch feature can be found at:
Settings>SET UP>Migration>Connected services>Mail fetch

I sent a test message to my outlook.com account and on the next 5 minute fetch it appeared in my Fastmail account. So outlook.com mail fetch is indeed working again!
