Is it possible to upgrade the old free accounts, I'd like to add a few more domains? I tried to do that via the billing portal, but unless I'm missing something obvious, it seems I have to sign up for a new account altogether.

Sure! You can either open a ticket requesting it or you can just sign up for a new account and request that I move the domains over to it.

Probably or definitely until the end of the month?

I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep. More likely than not it will continue through the end of the month. I want to start pushing the new Small package after the holidays.

I'm also going to be pushing an unbranded promo by the end of the month. It'll probably be nailed down after this weekend's maintenance on the mxlogin server.

OK. Please give a heads up before you end or start any promos.

"There are some commonly expected features of such an environment that are NOT features"

Is that a roundabout way of saying "We do not provide these commonly expected features"? Also, the difference between Christmas10 and CyberMonday isn't very clear.

Yeah we get these questions so often that I want to be sure no one is making a purchase with expectations that cannot be met at this time. While intended for a reseller, the unbranded does not function as one might expect from something like a cPanel reseller account. It seems many do expect just that.

The difference is that this is fully unbranded as opposed to the other. Fully white label. No clear connection to MXroute. This also has two upgrade options that follow the same $1 per year per GB of storage. The cyber Monday special cannot be upgraded by that same calculation.

If you missed our Cyber Monday special, it ends when January starts.

starttls.info shows mxroute.com accepts 40-bit ciphers and SSL3.
I'd recommend 128-bit AES for minimum.
Disabling SSL3 might be wise given POODLE.

It shows mx2.mxroute.com doesn't support STARTTLS.

https://starttls.info/check/mxroute.com

Thanks.

If a mail server uses any kind of garbage connection rate limiting then starttls.info will quickly exceed those limits and interpret a server saying "go away and stop making abusive levels of bad connections" as "oh noes you fail security!"

You can telnet to port 25 and clearly see it advertises STARTTLS.

What in the world did I do...V3 should definitely be disabled. Time to give myself a bad rating. Will be resolved momentarily

Alright I ran through this and I'm not sure what their site is basing that on. SSLv3 was disabled as I thought. It wasn't disabled in Apache but Nginx is running a reverse proxy to it (443 included) and it was disabled on Nginx. It remains disabled on Exim and Dovecot as well.

Thank you for checking it out.

I manually checked a few settings with openssl s_client and the only
thing I saw was RC4 is still enabled.

openssl s_client -connect mx1.mxroute.com:25 -starttls smtp -tls1 -cipher RC4-SHA
openssl s_client -connect mx1.mxroute.com:25 -starttls smtp -tls1 -cipher RC4-MD5

Also a subdomain mentioned in an earlier comment has SSL3 enabled.
https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/anal...ng.mxroute.com

But the mx1.mxroute.com looked fine on ssllabs.com.
