Wirth died on Jan 1, 2024.

I learned the Pascal programming language in the 1980’s and used it for personal projects.

Same here. I first used it for fun and some private project (actually work related, but unofficial) on an IBM mainframe in the army, until they blocked Pascal because too many officers were doing their college homework on the mainframe, and later my brother bought a PC and we used Borland Turbo Pascal (versions 3 and 4) on that PC.
